Before there was a product, there was a person.

At Squid's Ink, our mission is to empower artists to compete in the creative economy.

We do this through story.

You own your craft, our job is to help you package & communicate your unique value to the rest of the world.

We work with clients to understand your brand — the details of your skill set, what you create, who you work with, why it matters — and how you want to position yourself.

We use all this information to build you custom brand strategies that makes it easy to stay consistent, connect with the right audiences, and access the types of opportunities you’re dream of.

Whether you’re job hunting, auditioning, growing an audience, launching a brand, or building a business — we’ll help you :

★ Build the narrative of how you got to where you are today

★ Effectively communicate your unique value

★ Learn how to own your shadow & find the strength hiding in your weaknesses

★ Give people a reason to support you & invest in your story

About our process:

Step 1: Discovery Call

Before taking on new clients, we meet one-on-one via Discovery Call so we can learn about your project and decide if we’re the right agency to bring it to life.

We want to see your vision and understand how it relates to your larger life goals.

We’ll use this information to develop strategic frameworks that position you in front of the right audiences to gain traction in your niche.

Step 2: Strategy & Positioning

Once you sign on to work with us, we’ll send you a welcome packet detailing everything we need from you in order to get started!

We’ll include custom guides that explain our approach to your digital marketing strategies, and content frameworks.

These documents will be our road map and reference while we develop your visuals and content plan.

Don’t worry, we will keep you involved in each step of the process so you end up with a brand design that feels intuitive, easy to maintain and, most importantly, delivers results.

Step 3: Build

This is the part where we take all the information we’ve gathered and start building the blueprint.

You’ll receive progress reports and regular opportunities to give feedback so you can feel confident letting go of the reigns.

Sit back, relax, and let us do the work!

Step 4: Delivery & Revisions

Once we’ve completed your project we will meet to review all assets and deliverables.

We’ll walk you through our decision making process and the logic behind our strategies.

This is a perfect time to ask questions!

While each project is unique, all of our services include at least one round of revisions to make sure you walk away feeling satisfied.

Step 5: Data & Analytics

Depending on your package, we offer up to 90 days of post-project support including data and analytics reporting.

If you choose to work with us for continued support, we’ll meet monthly to review where your leads are coming from and use this data to refine content strategies.

The Bigger Picture: A Creative Renaissance

The Commodification of Art:

We all know what it’s like to spend half the night scrolling through streaming services searching through an endless abyss of titles, all of which fail to provoke any real sense of interest, meaning, desire, or… general feeling

In the era of short-form, more-is-more content, there is a real craving for something with substance.

Which is why, now more than ever, your unique perspective has all the value.

The best art is a reflection of life.

The job of the artist is to observe the world and offer an interpretation – to make the invisible visible.

Crafting your personal narrative:

Crafting your personal narrative is the process of peeling back the layers of your life & work, and packaging it together like a story.

Who are you? What do you want? What keeps getting in the way?

We take clients through brand framework exercises designed to build you a media kit that’s grounded in your confidence.

You’ll walk away with a style guide that clearly communicates your unique value, who you work with, what you offer, and the purpose driving you in a story framework that sets you up for consistency and success.

"Why", you ask?

★ Make it easy to show up consistently over time

★ Freedom to pass off posting knowing exactly how your image is being used

★ Persona & communication strategies to maintain healthy boundaries between who you present yourself as online & who you are in your real life.

★ Build communication frameworks that allow you to share your lived experiences in a way that honors your dignity & respects your humanity.

Humans : the story-telling animal

It is impossible to separate humans from stories.

Our world is built on them.

Literally.

Our brains evolved to process the world through storytelling.

We naturally use Narrative Thinking to make sense of life — mentally narrating stories to construct reality & formulate a sense of what you are experiencing at any given moment.

We play story by instinct.

Children across the world act out the same plot lines of mommies & babies; monsters & unicorns; mermaids & missing parents.

Dead serious fun.

We use the stories we play within to rehearse for adult life.

The themes are vast & wondrous, riddled with existential trouble, and confronting dark forces.

Story has been thee defining tool of human evolution.

Passed down through pictures, evolving into letters that morphed into language.

Story is the primary tool used for accumulating & transmitting knowledge — essential for organizing people to work as a collective; from hunting and gathering to the global-economy we live in today.

Story is how we make sense of the chaos happening all around us.

We reflexively try to fit our real lives into the comfortable crevasse of narrative story structure.

When we loose our story, we loose our identity.

Where did you come from?

Where are you going?

What are you going to do with this one wild, precious, life?

It’s that powerful.

It’s why we burn books.

It’s why we erase history.

Because the most powerful force in this world is the story you tell yourself.

And if you don’t know your own story, you will believe any story the world tells you about yourself.

So, what are the essential elements of a story?

  1. Character

  2. Desire

  3. Conflict

Let me say that one more time just in case you missed it:

There is no story without conflict.

Brain Magic : The Anxiety Spiral & The Creative Spiral

Pixelated pink heart with a white highlight on a transparent background.

In 2025 we are living in the most hyper-connected, distraction-saturated era in history.

In the United States, the average person is spending 4-5 hours a day on their phone — totaling up to almost 70 days a year.

Algorithms move at warp speed, trends cycle faster than ever, and our attention spans are rapidly shrinking.

And yet, deep down, we all crave real connection.

That’s where creativity comes in.

With the rise in social media & the commodification of art, The Creative Act has been reduced to somewhat of a marketing gimmick.

But this distracts from the real power that comes from cultivating a daily creative practice.

You see, creativity isn’t about aesthetics — there is actually an evolutionary purpose to creating in and of itself.

When we encounter an obstacle, our brain has 2 default road-maps for thinking :

Will this hurt me? (fear)

OR

Will this help me? (curiosity).

When we meet problems with fear we move into the left hemisphere of the brain; increasing anxiety, overwhelm, and emotional dis-regulation.

Curiosity moves us out of anxiety and into imagination – activating the right hemisphere where we are able to see more solutions outside of our fear based thinking.

To put it simply, the Creative Spiral might just be the antidote to the Anxiety Spiral.

From an evolution stand-point, fear based thinking is great!

We tend to hoard resources, take fewer risks, avoid unfamiliar people, places, & fall into predictable patterns.

Why?

Because our brains believe these behaviors will keep us alive.

In fact, every brain (human + animal alike) is programed with a negativity bias.

Why?

Because we are more likely to be hurt from something negative than something positive.

Survival. (Beck, Beyond Anxiety)

The part of our brain where fear lives is called the amygdala — also known as the Lizard Brain.

It gets this reptilian nickname, once again, from evolution as being the most basic form a brain can take.

Because of this, fear is our go-to response to problems.

We literally had to evolve curiosity.

How is this relevant today? I’m glad you asked!

We are living through an era of mass anxiety.

Technology is evolving faster than our brains can keep up with.

We are constantly overloaded with information, notifications, and the pressure to do it all.

It is a war for our attention.

And it’s not going anywhere any time soon.

So we need to ask : how are we going to adapt?

Luckily for us, neuroscience is on our side – and there are plenty of ways to hack the brain.

Our world is mostly designed around left-brain thinking —  controlling our perception of time, logic, language, pattern recognition and analytical thinking.

Because our brains are so good at this, they also have the ability to trap us in the oh-so-familiar anxiety spiral when overstimulated – trying to think our way through conflict.

In case you haven’t tried it for yourself, more thinking is rarely ever the cure for anxiety.

We need to use a different tool.

The key? Activating the right hemisphere through creativity.

Shifting from Fear to Curiosity turns on the right hemisphere of the brain, where we are in a more open, imaginative state, making us better at problem-solving and decision-making.

When both hemispheres of the brain are working together, we transition from stress to flow, from burnout to inspiration.

Alchemy : Awaken to your powers

Pixelated pink heart with a white highlight on a transparent background.

What makes art meaningful, valuable & impactful is the humanity of it.

What separates art from content is art gives us the ability to experience the world through someone else's point of view in a way that leaves an emotional impact.

And that’s no shade to content — it has its’ place in the ecosystem — but there is a difference.

Art forces us to ask questions we haven’t considered before:

It reveals hidden truths about ourselves & the world.

It asks us to imagine scenarios we never could have dreamed.

It challenges us to accept a reality we have no control over.

It dares us to be curious.

It connects us to one another.

Which is exactly why your unique perspective holds all the value – it exists within you independent of whoever else is in the market and who the gatekeepers are.

When you don’t know how valuable you are, you become vulnerable to exploitation.

And in a world built off exploitation, there are vampires waiting around every corner for you to loose the plot and forget who you are.

It’s time to take the power back.

There is actually enough space for everyone when we embrace collaboration over competition.

It’s not about being palatable for everyone, it’s about being wholeheartedly yourself & letting the people who identify with that find you.

At Squid’s Ink, our purpose is to help creators understand the value they offer, package their stories, and use media to create life-changing opportunities.

When we have the courage to walk into our stories, we get to write the ending.

How will you leave your ink?
